Stopped in after a drive for dinner. Was unimpressed with the menu but felt it was overpriced. Had the pork chop which was fine, but my overall impression was another chain restaurant... My mom and sis each had the chicken pot pie, but it was very rich and quite heavy. Not sure I would go back.

We are staying in the Royal Floridian Resort and the Stonewood was one of the highly recommend places to eat. I then got on yelp and it also gave good reviews. So that's where we chose to eat our first night at Ormond Beach. Good choice ! The restaurant has great atmosphere, loved the deco. The waitress was very sweet I chose a Blueberry Martini, I'm not sure why because I really don't like them ,I think it was because of the blueberry. She ended up bringing me a Strawberry Rhubarb Mojita, wonderful! Had two of them. We both had steaks, the Ribeye and Fillet. The melted in your mouth wonderful flavor. We also loved their breads they served with the meal, one of them was like a fresh pretzel twist. Would definitely go back.

What a great meal. Much nicer than most Florida spots. Great Service fro Mike from Jersey. Excellent variety. I had outstanding herb- encrusted Grouper an Cindy had tenderloin and shrimp on special. Wonderful happy hour specials till 7, and a decent wine selection. Highly recommended! Another great Yelp experience

This is a must dine every time I find myself back in the area. I've never had a bad meal at Stonewood. The food is alway thoughtful, well prepared and ever so tasty coupled with a great selection of wine. More than the food, the decor and ambiance is also very upscale and sophisticated. The combination of the two makes for a great dining experience.

I completely agree with thte first poster..Some underrated items to try - Their wings are the best in the area. So is their burger.

This was, by far, the best restaurant I've eaten at in the Daytona area. We arrived about 6pm on 7/24. At the time we arrived, it wasn't busy and we got seated right away. Our waiter was amazing and very charismatic. Our drinks never went empty, and our food was served timely. Our appetizer was the Steak Bits (sp.). It was a Filet Mignon cut into cubes and served with toasted (french?) bread and horseradish sauce. It. Was. Amazing. My boyfriend got the new york strip steak, and he said it was the best steak he's had in years. I got the rib-eye, and it was almost as tender as a filet. I was amazed. It was an expensive date, about $100 for the the both of us after tip, but so, so very worth it. We will be back every time we're in the area.

How can I start off with this place? We came here a little late on July 3rd got seated and was introduced to our server. The server greeted us and was nice to us but that was the highlight of the evening. Our server was nice but I guess he started getting nervous and started making mistakes and not refilling our drinks in a timely manner for our group of six (not busy being late). I ordered the chicken pot pie to try something different and this came out a bit different than a typical-pie shell with all the fillings. My meal was good and portioned well but for the price it was a tad bit expensive. I would recommend this place IF you're confined to your area and don't want to head to the chain restaurants. If I am in the area in the future I might be back but will try out other places pending the situation.

Crab cake app....tasty Margarita and bleu cheese olive Martini demanded encores. Blackened Black Grouper and Lamb Chops...no complaints. Erik was an exceptional server and made excellent recommendations. Atmosphere is pleasant. If it weren't for the 602 mile drive we would be here once a week!

  • Jason R.

Absolutely amazing. Every aspect from the atmosphere, the service and most importantly the food were absolutely on point. I don't have a single negative thing to say. And on top of that, it's reasonable in price. Worth every last red cent! Definitely go here!!!

We very rarely review a place unless we think it's fabulous or terrible. This place was fabulous. My husband went to culinary school and cooked in many places in Telluride and Denver so it is rare we find somewhere that we like everything our family of 5 orders. We had everything from appetizers thru dessert. Everything was great including our waiter Vincent!! This is our second week long trip to Daytona in 2 years and this has been hands down the best meal we have had in both trips here.

"Tequila!" Stonewood is across the street from the beach on A1A although you can't see the water due to the buildings. There was a good crowd when we got there but didn't have to wait long for a window seat. My parents are regulars here so they kind of already knew what they wanted. I, however, did not. So while I perused the menu I ordered a Ultimate Margarita from our server--one of those big gulps with tequila, agave, orange liqueur, citrus juices and a dash of Courvoisier served on the rocks. Oh, man that definitely hit the spot. My dad got a Scotch and mom stole sips from his and my drinks as usual. Entrees for us were steak salad for dad with oak grilled steak, mushrooms, red peppers, bleu cheese crumbles, blackened walnuts and raspberry balsamic vinaigrette. Mom went with crab cakes and I had seared ahi and followed with Tuscan chicken which consisted of balsamic marinated chicken, goat cheese, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms, vegetables and rice pilaf. I also ordered a plain margarita since my Ultimate had disappeared rather quickly. My parents liked their entrees and I liked the ahi and chicken dish but my chicken breast was very small and thin. I wish there had been a larger portion. I was glad I'd ordered the ahi with it. I also noticed that my margarita had again disappeared rather quickly and, not wanting to waste the ice left in the glass, I ordered a single shot of Sauza tequila. I also managed to find the song "Tequila" from The Champs on my smartphone and played it as I took care of the bill and tipped the server 25%. (He was a very personable and attentive guy.) All in all I liked my meal at Stonewood and would not hesitate to come back.

The Food Subpar at best. Salt nor pepper helped bring the food to life. A total of 5 different plates within my party were sent back to the kitchen. Staff The waitress BG was awful. She was rude. Reaching over plates without an excuse me. Lying to a customer face without acknowledging that something could have been wrong. For the price the service was less than great. BG even had the audacity to tell someone in my party that they'll reheat the plate of food in the microwave. I'm sorry. I didn't know you had a microwave. If you're allergic to fish or nuts......I suggest you don't eat here. They only cook in peanut oil which limits your food choices. The waitress also states the fish and chicken are fried in the same oil. Which I thought was a no no.

  • Utha M.

9/10 people in our party had very good food. One party had a severely raw prime rib ( they ordered medium, it came RAW). Decent wine list (young wines...but some good choices). Service was excellent. Atmosphere very nice. For our Easter 2015 meal, we have no regrets.

Our favorite restaurant in the Daytona area. Excellent food and a very nice wine selection. Great servers: efficient, friendly, and attentive.

I found Stonewood Grill to be a little over rated. My cedar plank salmon was excellent but slightly overcooked and the portion of salmon a little on the small side. My wife had a steak salad which was mediocre. The greens in this salad were mostly ice berg lettuce which should have been a better mixture of greens. Our friend had the grilled trout and the grilled salmon. It was good but not the best they have had. We shared two desserts - key lime pie and the chocolate bread pudding, both of which were generous portions and very tasty. The cappuccino tasted like regular coffee on a big cup with whipped milk- obviously not made in a machine like Starbucks. The presentation of the food was very good and the restaurant ambiance also very good. I also thought the premium wines were acceptably priced for a restaurant, and the waiter decanted the wine for us as we requested. Overall the dining experience was good, and we would definitely return again and this time try the steaks which I think is there specialty.

  • Kenny R.

Impeccable service. Delicious food. The salmon had a delicious oak flavor. The mashed potatoes were so tasty! The bread selection included cranberry bread and fresh pretzel bread sticks. Not too noisy, the atmosphere was very nice. Our table of 4 was seated immediately on a Thursday evening.

  • Rich C.

Everything was very good, from the food to the service and atmosphere. We had the steak and salmon entrees and both were superb. I would not give this place 5 stars because it is not a first class place or a first class experience but I will definitely go back when I am in town. It is a notch above Outback on the same scale as J Alexander's. Very enjoyable experience.

    (4)
  • Sara S.

Good salad, I had a Pear Chicken dish, someone in our party had shrimp linguini, the stonewood salad, clam chowder and I think a burger. The bread selection was great too!

  • Chad M.

Great venue. Bruschetta with Basalmic dressing was great. The fried calamari Steaks were fair. Had the blackened grouper with a side shrimp & scallops. That was amazing!

Yelp helped us make our decision on having our anniversary dinner here and boy are we glad we went! Food....Great! Service....Great! Chocolate Bread Pudding.....GREAT GREAT AND GREAT!!! We will definitely be eating here agian!

  • Helena H.

The food is just ok, and overpriced, so save your money and sit at the bar. During happy hour it's quite convivial and the homemade potato chips with blue cheese and balsamic go great with a glass of red wine. Warning: do not go for brunch. Their version of Eggs Benedict should be banned. It's obvious they threw the night chef into an early morning kitchen...against his will.

Fine, casual dining at its best. It has a warm, trendy atmosphere. We went on a Thursday night around 6 and were seated right away, there were many people waiting when we left. Our waiter was excellent and attentive (this waned a little towards the end as he got busier) the menu had a great selection but not so large as to be annoying. Great alcohol selection and they had a few happy hour specials. I ordered the blackened chicken pasta, it was delicious! It has lots of veggies and tasted very fresh. My husband got the crab crusted mahi, which was also delicious. After we ordered they brought out a selection of fresh bread that was really yummy! We got the kids burger for our 3 year old, it was very large for a kids burger (like 1/3 lb on a slider bun) but had great flavor. The key lime pie was decent. The latte was terrible and tasted like a powder or they mixed it with water or skim milk. We will be back here anytime we are close!

Three things I would like to say about this place - Yummy, Yummy, Yummy. Finally for desert I would like to say sit at the bar when Shay and Caroline are working. They are the best.

  • Marco M.

Let's start with I'm always greeted at the door with s a pleasant smile. I've had every entrees at least once and only one time was my food wrong and they professionally took care of it. Foods always great! Simple yet good choice of just higher end American cuisine. The staff is always down to earth yet professional which is hard to do especially for this area. Hands down best restaurant around for miles and miles!

  • Yasmine F.

This place was nice, clearly very popular because the wait was over an hour, but luckily for my friend and me, a couple had just left the bar area which is first come first serve. I had the red sangria and the strawberry rhubarb mojito which was DELICIOUS! I also had the short rib sliders and baked brie. They were okay...I think their full menu is probably better. The short rib meat was very good though. I will definitely be back.

Delicious food brought out promptly and helpful service stood out to us for our anniversary dinner at Stonewood. We highly recommend steak, and we thoroughly enjoyed our desserts. My husband had the bread pudding, and I had the Orange cake.

My dinner here was excellent. You must have the steak. Mmmm.... Open kitchen, friendly and attentive staff. Taki, thank-you for a perfect meal.

Delicious appetizer. We had the steak bites. I had the blackened Mahi and my boyfriend had the encrusted grouper. All very good. No dessert this night. My only complaint is that we waited a long time for our entree. Our server seemed particularly slow. Give yourself time if you are coming here. It's kind of pricey too but well worth it.

Wonderful. One of the best ribeye steaks I've had in months. Nice atmosphere and decent service. Recommended.

My first visit to Stonewood and I will keep coming back! Me and my boyfriend tried a few different specialty drinks and all were very good, the food was amazing and I finished everything on my plate. We had the smoked salmon for an appetizer, my boyfriend was never a fan of salmon but he figured he would give it another try and he loved it! I had a mahi dinner, I can't remember exactly which one it was but it was incredible. And my boyfriend had one of the steak dinners and loved it as well. The staff was extremely friendly and it was a nice environment. We will be returning often!

One of the best restaurants in Volusia County. Nice ambiance great for families. Comfortable seats. Clean restrooms. Nice wine list and happy hour pricing until 7pm. Great food. Awesome pretzel rolls. The blue cheese chips appetizer is really great. Parking lot can be tricking on the wrong day and time. I've never had a bad experience there in the 4 years we have been going a few times a year on vacation. Not the cheapest place but great food and worth it.

We had the best meal of our stay in Florida. The salmon with mediterranean topping and chicken Florentine were delicious. You can call for reservation our you could chance it in the bar area. Also the stone bits, for an appetizer was delicious. Wait staff was courteous and had great suggestions. Bartender was a sweetheart. Would definitely come again.

The thing I love most about Stonewood Grill is that since it is in a beach town it is way scaled down. You get comparable quality to Ruth's Chris or Morton's with the casual atmosphere of a Long Horn's. I got the filet, my husband got the pork chops and my son got the prime rib. Everything was perfect. The service was impeccable, almost anytime our server came near our table she peeked to see how we were doing. Attentive without hovering. I was a little annoyed that it took them 15 minutes to seat us past our 6:45 reservation time, the point in a reservation is to insure a table and avoid the wait. However, once we were seated the experience more than made up for it.

We dine at Stonewood more than occasionally, about 8 - 10 times per year. Every visit has been at least satisfactory and mis times above average. The staff is very well trained, the food well prepared and the wine list is reasonable and varied.

My wife and I go to this location about once a month. The service is always great and the food is very good. There selection of breads (pretzel my favorite) is always fresh and warm. The prices are a bit on the higher side for the quantity but the quality makes up for it. I especially like the happy hour 4-7pm. You can order a bottle of wine for about what you would pay at your wine store and take what you do not finish home. There house wines are very good as well for a casual glass. I recently had the chicken florentine and would say it was the only thing I have ever had that was on the bland side. Still a good meal and did not overindulge as is so easy to do here. My wife likes to get the steaks oscar with a side of Asparagus (50 cent upcharge for some reason). All in all a nice place with a quiet atmosphere to enjoy some down time.

Just finished a wonderful meal. Kolt, our waiter, was friendly, knowledgable, and polite. Good recommendation for drinks too. The filet and prime rib were done as ordered. Just the kind of dining experience we were looking for. Highly recommend.

Above average casual dining experience, with an above average wine list for casual dining. Food and service were above par.

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly... Three visits and that is all we can come up with. Sorry, but this place went downhill with each visit. The last time was the worst - service, food, way bad. It took three people at our table to complain - we took turns just to get our experience done. Did anybody care? No!

Here from Hilton Head for a yacht survey. Our meal was excellent, service was great, and the place is clean and very comfortably decorated. Both of us had fish and wedge salad. Couldn't have been more satisfied. A value for the price.

Best service we've had in a long long time. We called ahead for a reservation. (A MUST!) but when we arrived there was no record of it. The group in front of us, without a reservation was told that there would be a 30 minute wait. Waiting in line behind them we were very smug, thinking that we had our reservation in our pockets. Our turn up, no record of the reservation. Problem? No problem! They took responsibility for misplacing our reservation and seated us right away! Our waitress too, was really friendly! The breads were excellent! Really warm and yummy. Our favorite were the hot pretzel sticks. Grandma enjoyed the dried cranberry biscuit but complained that she thought they had been microwaved. Our son really liked the clam chowder and even went so far as to say it was just shy of being as good as clam chowder in Boston. (Boston chowder being the standard that all other chowders are held to). We had two orders of the herb crusted grouper, one grilled salmon and one surf and turf. As substitutions are allowed I exchanged the rice pilaf for the mashed potatoes. The potatoes were great! The green beans that accompanied the fish were perfect, crisp tender. Unfortunately the grouper was a bit tough and not really seasoned well. The filet on the surf and turf was outstanding but the lobster tail was again a bit over cooked and not tender. For dessert we had the chocolate bread pudding! Delicious! The portion is huge so make sure you have some one to share it with. We all loved the big chocolate crisp that came stuffed into the large scoop of lucious vanilla ice cream. If I return, I would sail away from the fish and "steer" toward the steaks .

This place is a fine-dining pearl! Food was fantastic, and service was on point. Should mention first that you'll probably feel under-dressed in shorts and a hoodie - just FYI. I had the apricot-glazed salmon, and wife had the chicken dish on special (sorry, can't remember it exactly). Both were cooked perfectly. Also had the chocolate bread pudding, as recommended by the waiter, "Best, by far." I was skeptical, but it was amazing! If you suffer from sticker shock, I recommend saving your pennies for a special occasion, but definitely give this place a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I came for a quick vacation with friends. The food was wonderful! It was the best place we ate at all week!

  • Laura H.

We came here a year ago while on vacation and it was our best meal by far. I was worried that a second trip wouldn't live up to our expectations, but we were not disappointed. Everything was excellent. The food was amazing, the waitstaff was extremely friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was just right for an evening out. The pricing is a bit expensive, but I don't mind paying for quality, and the meal is worth the price.

Lived in the area for 3 years and tonight was my first visit to Stonewood. No question it is my favorite restaurant in the area. The bread served before the meal was the best ever. In the breadbasket were soft pretzels, melt in your mouth good. I had the Jack Daniels short ribs and they were outstanding.

  • Richard P.

I sat at the bar and ordered a couple of domestic drafts. For food, I had some chips... drizzled in balsamic and blue cheese crumbles. It was crazy decadent! The atmosphere is definitely up-scale, but the clientele are mixed. I would recommend this place.. it's classy and has a good vibe. The wait staff are awesome.

We go there quite a bit and always enjoy it! We almost always get the ahi tuna appetizer its amazingly good. I just about always get a steak which has always been super good!! The pretzel bread is the best by far of anywhere else I have ever been!!

This was our first time in Ormond Beach, and for our first dinner, we walked down the block from our condo to Stonewood. The food was terrific. My pork chop was juicy and tasty, with a nice caramelized crust. The Caesar salad was authentic, with real anchovy paste (instead of the processed cream-based dressing). And the chocolate bread pudding I had for dessert was wonderful. My wife had the a great blackened chicken pasta dish and thoroughly enjoyed the multi-layered chocolate cake. And we both loved the sangrias. The only complaint was the pace. Yes, the place was packed, but the wait for the food was very long. Also, even though we made reservations, we still ended up waiting quite a bit to get our seats. Overall, still a good place to get a great meal in Ormond Beach. Hope they improve the kitchen's pacing, but still a strong dining option.

Always delicious food and drinks, one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Steaks are delicious, the appetizer of salmon is amazing! Service is generally pretty good.

  • Diane G.

This was our first visit here and we had a great time. Our waiter tauke (sp) who was Greek went above and beyond. We tried several wines before we choose one. I ordered lamb chops and my mom ordered the filet and my husband the grouper. My chops were good but my moms steak was amazing. Waiter said they are known for the steaks. Grouper was a little dry. Service was great. Definately go back for the steak

  • Matt K.

The food was great. I had the filet mignon with house salad and mashed potatoes. The hostess was very nice but our waiter wasn't. He was actually rude, he brought us our second batch of bread and it was cold- inside and out. So we told our waiter and he said "oh is it? I'll go heat it up", honestly I would have said "oh, I lm so sorry about that, let me go get you a new batch". Then when he came back he said that they were fresh, but I'm not convinced. He barely checked on us throughout the meal.

This is another one of my favorite restaurants! Stonewood Grill really knows how to do food and service right! Our food experience started with creamy clam chowder soup- cup $5.30, bowl $6.50, the soup was full of clams and pieces of fish. Their clam chowder is definitely my favorite clam chowder ever! For the main entrées I had the new lamb shank dish with whipped herb mashed potatoes and green beans about $28.00. The lamb was fall off the bone great! My partner had the Blackened grilled chicken bow tie pasta about $18.00. The pasta was excellent with a very tasty cream sauce and sun dried tomatoes. For future reference we were told that the herb encrusted rack of lamb can be made on request even though it is not on the menu. It is definitely worth the wait of at least a half hour for the herb lamb. Our server Jeremy knows all about the lamb dish and he is very proficient in his profession. Also, I usually like a glass of red Sangria but tried the white tonight based on our server's suggestion. I couldn't believe how amazing the white Sangria is here! Can't wait to come back again soon!

  • Cindy P.

Delicious! The clam chowder is the best I've ever had and the bread and warm pretzels are a divine start. The dinner salad was fresh and crispy and the bleu cheese dressing was perfect. The rib eye steak was a little too fatty but the taste was good.

  • Cathy B.

Third time in a row the food was sub par. The outside air temp was in the 30's and they had the air on. We asked twice to have heat turned on which never happened. We ate with our coats on. Not going back.

Still one of the best restaurants in the Daytona/Ormond Beach area! We had some great apps...calamari, and from the Happy Hour Tavern menu: the sliders, which were little hamburgers with all the fixings on them...yummy! The strip steak and fillets were delish! The featured salmon dish with almonds and blueberry compote was simply delicious! They feature several different 1/2 price wines by the glass and bottle during happy hour and we enjoyed the Simi red...it was great! Our server Geno did a wonderful job and the new Managing Partner Joe C. was very attentive and saw that every detail was just right!

Food is always great but why bother taking reservations if you're not going to abide by them. Sitting bar guests before reservation guests is not acceptable

  • Karla S.

There are few occasions when I have had a bad meal ; however this is the second time they have disappointed me. I made a reservation for 10 pm believing this is a fully functioning restaurant at this time. My grouper if you want to call it that looked like hockey puck. I say ok because of the time of night, but wait folks here is the kicker we were here before at 8. I guess I have to get here earlier. Oh I want say the smoked salmon appetizer is delicious. I guess that is because it doesn't have to be cooked. DONE WITH STONEWOOD !!!! TO EXPENSIVE FOR THE FOOD THEY TRY PASS OFF AS FOOD

Worst ecperiance ever! I made reservations one month in advance for my husbands birthday party for 20 guests. I was told we would have a private room. When our party arrived we were seated in a shared room off from the very loud bar area with another party celebrating with their family. It was so loud in there we couldnt hear each other. The wait staff was the worst I have ever experienced. We started out with two waitresses and when all of my party arrived, they took our orders, then one waitress just disappears. Half of my party was served while the other half plus myself had to rerequest our salads and entre! We had many that had to keep reordering because they lost or couldn't find the orders! When the food finally came out some were wrong, over cooked or just not served. Then when it was cake time (which I provided one) they came out with a cupcake! I had to stop the girl after she lit a candle and remind her that I had brought my own! I was very upset about the whole experience, i would not recommend having a large gathering or party here, its obvious they cannot handle it.

Decent food all around. Hamburgers were the best we found in Ormond. Good atmosphere. Fun time.

I wasn't expecting the place to be as high-end as it as when I walked in. Not 5-star high-end but more like Ruth's Chris high-end, but with no dress code since we're at the beach. While vacationing in Ormond, my boyfriend and I needed a break from all the seafood and quick bites and were really craving a hearty meal of meat and potatoes, and this place definitely delivered. Great martini selection (I got the Absolut Pear martini which was sour and sweet, but also kinda sickeningly sweet in the way bathroom cleaner smells, if that makes sense). They didn't have a good Irish whiskey selection, but what can you do? Anyway, props to our awesome server who was really helpful with her suggestions for the meal as well as suggestions on where in the area to find a place with lots of Irish whiskey. She even dropped in hints of dessert specials when we were still working on our entrees. That's a great little skill to make tips, if I've ever seen one. For the food: appetizer of handmade potato chips with a blue cheese crumble/balsamic reduction glaze = PHENOM, though I have had better in PA. Steaks = perfectly cooked and seasoned just right but still not in my top five. Mashed potatoes were creamy and not too heavy on the garlic like how Outback does it, so I appreciated that. Green beans were also good, but I think I would have preferred to have a starter salad rather than the side but since it was the chef's selection, I think a change would have meant an up-charge. For dessert, she suggested the bourbon bread pudding but that seemed too heavy so we opted for the Florida orange cake. The cake itself was fresh and light and delicious but the orange creamsicle icing and white chocolate morsels tasted like fluoride. (Maybe I have some odd power of scoping out cleaners/dental products in my food?) Either way, the food was good and it's a nice change of pace from all the beachside grills, but it's definitely way too expensive for food that I've generally had in other steakhouses.

Service was excellent. Seating was very comfortable with the exception of a crying baby at the table next to us, which continued for our entire meal. This was obviously not Stonewoods problem but with the prices we did not think it would be norm to have that situation. My husband ordered the 16 oz pork chop. It looked delicious and he said it was excellent. Another member of our party had blackened Mahi and he also enjoyed and complimented the flavor and quality of his meal. I had the 12 oz prime rib as well as the other member of our party.and it was extremely disappointing for both of us. We cut away more than half of it due to the fat and what was left was not tender. It was the worse prime rib I have had in the Daytona Beach Area. We would return to Stonewoods because two meals were excellent, as well as the service , mixed drinks were also top notch and I enjoyed the sides and bread that came with our meals. Will stay away from the prime rib.

My wife and I have been to the Stonewood Grill and Tavern twice in the past 6 months. Both visits were for grand kids birthday celebrations. Grand kids are teens and they couldn't have been happier. Service was outstanding and the the food prepared to perfection. Grilled sea bass was the best I have tasted.

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Their appetizers, cocktails, and steak were fantastic! Pricey sure, but wasn't disappointed in any way. Yelp'ed it the two days ago and am going back for seconds this evening. I would also recommend their sister restaurant (The Peach Valley Cafe) for breakfast. I yelp'ed Peach Valley this morning too...they gave me a $10 coupon to Stonewood, which is how I know they are connected. I had the bruschetta and filet at Stonewood.

My wife and I had a nice dinner tonight at the Stonewood as we wrapped up our Spring Break vacation on our last night out. There were some older couples along with other Spring Breakers in this establishment on a Wednesday. It wasn't too busy @ 5:00, but by the time we left it was filling up fast. The bar was packed when we left as Wednesdays offer great drink specials: $6 martinis, $1 off draft beer, and wine specials. The decor was nice and elegant with an earthy sort of wood tone throughout. Customer service was great! Our waiter was nice and the food we ordered came out fairly quickly as it wasn't too busy. The bread was an assortment of 3 types. We liked the pretzel breadstick, but not the roll that had craisins in it. We started out w/an appetizer that was okay: spicy shrimp. It wasn't too spicy and was almost dry/not wet enough with any sauce or flavor. I like a lot of spice so I was disappointed, but my wife liked it. I had the crusted grouper w/green beans and rice for my entree which was very good. The grouper was excellent. I ate healthy and was still hungry when I left, but the dinner was very good. My wife had the steak salad. The fillet was wonderfully cooked (medium rare). The extras on the salad were okay: cooked portabella mushrooms then chilled and candied walnuts. She did not want the blue cheese crumbles that came with it. The raspberry vinaigrette was very thick and not as thin as most vinaigrettes. We did not get dessert. All in all it was good, just not our cup of tea. We probably would not have eaten there, but we had a $50 gift card. Our bill before tip was $62 (I had a draft beer and my wife had a sparkling water). If you like a fancier or a finer dining experience than most places near spring break/beach locations, give it a try as you'll likely like it.

Service is excellent, wine delicious (we caught a happy hour half off special), and food extremely good. Try the buffalo shrimp, wedge salad, smoked salmon appetizer, and onion soup. Bone in rib eye was very tended and delicious. Only possible misstep was the herb crusted grouper which was crusted in bread crumbs (no herbs to be found) and finished with a balsamic reduction. Note to the food industry: not everything benefits from a balsamic reduction. If I could do it again I'd order the grouper grilled. Fish was very fresh and good anyway. We tried the chocolate bread pudding and bananas foster for desert. Both excellent but the bread pudding has rum in it and is served with a whiskey sauce and both were strong so if you don't drink this is not the desert for you. Atmosphere was lovely and dark. This would be a fantastic date spot. We used it as our final meal on our honeymoon and were well pleased with our choice. Definitely try it.

Stonewood was pretty good. I thought they could have been a little more adventurous for the prices. If you like steaks, they have steaks. They also have an assortment of dishes like pasta with chicken, a grouper, steak skewered, pork chops and some other regulars. They do have a decent selection of seafood dishes also. The service was very good. Polite, attentive, clean. The atmosphere reminded me of a ski lodge cabin.

The food was probably the best we ever had in the Daytona area. Also, it was "Happy Hour" all night on a Wednesday, so glasses of wine were half price. Tanya the waitress gave us excellent service !

Select wines are 50% off during happy hour. Ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio (forgot the name but its from Veneto, Italy). The wine was crisp with fruit undertones...very refreshing. For food, got an order of the pre fix special which included caesar salad, NY Strip, jumbo shrimp, and baked potato and an order of char grilled mahi mahi. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. While waiting for food, the waiter provided a basket of freshly baked bread. Portions were large, so unfortunately did not get a chance to order dessert. Otherwise I probably would have ordered the chocolate bread pudding!

I have spent a lot of time in Ormond over the past 8 years, and I'm bummed I just went to this place for the first time a couple weeks ago. I was originally slated to go to Martini's, come to find out it's closed Sundays, so we decided to give this place a shot on my father's recommendation. I'll start with the food, it was wonderful. I got a Filet Mignon. I like my meat cooked a lot, I got it medium well, and it was still very tasty. Actually, one of the best steaks I've ever had. I forget the name of the dish my fiance got, but it was essentially raviolis with filet mignon. She also loved it. The wine selection was great, the beer selection was just okay (but I couldn't really find any place in the Daytona area with a good beer selection, so I'll let this one slide). We got cheesecake for dessert, which was amazing. The coffee was a little weak. The service was great. Our waiter was professional and attentive. no complaints at all about him. I will definitely go back here next time I am in Ormond Beach.

This was our first visit to Stonewood. We choose this based on the prior rating on Yelp. I have to agree this was a very nice restaurant. The food was great and our waiter was fantastic. Will definatly return upon our next visit to the Ormand Beach are.

Great food! We had 2 adults and one child. We had the ginger salmon and the fillet with portabello ravioli. Food was great. Child's menu exists, and our daughter said the grilled cheese was toasted just enough. The only very minor ouch was the wait for the main neal. Beautful place also, by the way.

We received a $100 voucher for a time share promotion, and this was one of the three restaurants that we could chose from. My expectations were somewhat tempered by that fact. We showed up for our reservation, and were seated within minutes. The ambiance was very nice, great service and the food was outstanding. I had the petite fillet with portobello ravioli, and asparagas, and I have never had a better steak. Perfectly cooked, great flavor, and the ravioli was the perfect compliment. For desert, we split a slice of orange cake, which was also wonderful.

We were so excited to have good seafood near the beach. My mom and I ordered the Mahi Mahi as it had great reviews. It had a good flavor but was dry. My dad ordered the steak and stated it was like outback, nothing special. I would skip it and try Billy's my favorite but is closed Sundays.

From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The selection was excellent, the food was great, and the service was outstanding. Jeremy was our waiter who was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We had the Herb Crusted Grouper, the Filet with Mushroom Ravioli and the Tuscon Chicken. All were excellent. We also enjoyed the onion soup and the clam chowder which were about as good as they come. We finished the night off with the Home Maid Chocolate Bread Pudding which was Out of this world! It was the best bread pudding I have had. Two thumbs up, five stars and many thanks for the fantastic experience. Thanks Stonewood for everything.

Excellent food. Ive tried almost everything on the menu and loved it all. A little pricey but worth every penny!! The filet is so delicious and tender, you could cut it with a butter knife. I come here as much as I can when we make our yearly trip down.
